Metacognitive Strategy: Overviewing and linking with already known material 3. Ask students to observe the pictures and identify the differences between the three illustrations. Then, ask them to identify the different times of day. Ask students to trace the words. Model tracing the words for them if necessary. 4. Ask students what is missing from the pictures, and then have them go to the Sticker Page to paste the stickers that correctly complete the pictures. Tell them to align the stickers to the spaces provided as closely as possible. This is a great exercise to improve fine motor skills. Monitor student progress with the activity, and consider assigning additional fine motor skills practice for students that find the activity challenging. Play the recording and stop it after each greeting, so students practice responding to Jim. Cognitive Strategy: Recognizing models 5. Call students’ attention to the Tool Kit and explain that they can use any of those greetings depending on the situation. If it is appropriate for your students’ level, explain the difference between good evening and good night .
